For these Premium Wood models of our beloved C40 Mk4 Nitro Blade grinder, we responsibly source trees from our local partners and carefully select the most beautiful pieces of timber for making our 100% natural veneers.
Reducing the timber to fine sheets of veneer is an amazing process because you discover the incredible natural patterns of the wood grain, which emerge on each slice. Every piece of veneer that we use on our C40 grinders is considerately chosen and carefully cut to size. Trees are such a valuable natural resource, so it’s not only important to responsibly source them, we feel it’s our duty to do every piece justice and make sure every grinder shows the beauty of the wood!
Our passionate crafts- men and women carefully laminate the veneer onto the stainless steel grinder body, before it is meticulously sanded and polished with a natural hard wax oil. The latter is repeated several times in order to get the desired smooth and shiny surface.
It’s a particularly difficult process when you’re working with hard woods, but for us the result is totally worth it. This combination of the robustness of steel and the beauty and warmth of wood has always been at the heart of our design since the get go.
It goes without saying that the visual effect is important. For us, the user’s tactile experience is absolutely crucial too. It’s a difference that you can see, feel, and even hear whilst grinding.

Thanks to some smart material science, reworked internals and the addition of a basically unbreakable polymer-glass Bean Jar, the Comandante C40 Mk4 offers improved workflow, weight, and durability.
The burr material and design is the proud result of years of dedicated research and development at Comandante’s onsite coffee lab. Nitro Blade is unique, using a high-alloyed, high-nitrogen stainless steel with a fine martensitic micro-crystal matrix.
Burr Geometry has been optimised to achieve excellent Bean Thruput with a reduced Crank Torque and at the same time deliver a refined Particle Size Distribution for best brewing results

Can I make changes to my order after it’s been placed?
We do everything we can to fulfill orders quickly and unfortunately cannot make updates after an order has been placed. These changes include removing or adding products and/or changing the delivery address. If a mistake has been made with your order information, it’s quickest to create a new order with the correct information and then let our Customer Service.
Do you offer e-gift cards for international customers?
E-gift cards are only available to customers shipping within the U.S.
How Do I Set Up A Subscription Order?
We will deliver products to you as soon as reasonably possible. Orders are usually dispatched between 1-3 days from the date of the order being placed. Please contact us our customer service team if your delivery has not been received within the dates described.
How To Return My Items?
We do not currently offer free returns to overseas customers. You will therefore need to cover all costs of returning any items to us yourself. We advise that you mark your package ‘returned goods’ to avoid further duties. Remember: We strongly recommend that you return any items via a registered trackable service and obtain and retain proof of posting as we do not accept responsibility for items that fail to arrive with us.
